The management and staff welcome you to Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital. Our Day Surgery Unit has been purpose built to provide the best possible environment for you to have your surgery without remaining in hospital overnight. We will make your stay as comfortable as possible with minimal delays. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about your stay whilst in our hospital.
Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital is contracted with all major Health funds - NIB, MBF, Medibank Private, and HCF as well as those funds represented by the Australian Health Service Alliance and Australian Regional Health Group.
The hospital is also contracted and honored
to provide services to eligible patients covered by the Australian
Department of Veterans' Affairs.
If you are not privately insured and do not qualify under the Repatriation Private Patients Scheme, you are very welcome at our hospital. However, it will be necessary for you to obtain from the hospital, an estimate of fees which will be payable on admission.
Please complete the admission forms you received
at the doctor's surgery. It is important you return these forms
to us BEFORE your procedure either by presenting it in person,
mailing or faxing it to us. Our Reception Staff are available
to answer any questions regarding hospital costs. Simply phone
between 8.00am and 7.30pm weekdays. A Registered Nurse is available
to answer further questions if required.

After a brief admission process, you will be escorted to the
Day Surgery Ward. Here you will be provided with the theatre
gown to wear during the procedure.
Depending on your procedure, your recovery accommodation may either be a reclining chair or bed.
Following your procedure in the Operating Theatre,
you will have a brief stay in the recovery ward. Once recovered
you will return to the Day Surgery Unit. When you are alert
you will be offered light refreshments. Your length of stay
will be determined in consultation with yourself, Nursing Staff
and Doctor. Our Nursing Staff will provide discharge instructions
and clarify any concerns you may have prior to discharge.
Remember to keep your post-operative appointment with your Doctor.
