Redevelopment UpdateI

A substantial extension to Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital was commissioned in April 2001 which saw the licensed beds increased from 42 to 70 including 8 Day Procedure Beds. The hospital accommodation includes 21 private rooms with ensuites, a 6 bed High Dependency Unit and 3 bed Childrens' ward.  Patients are funded by Private Health Insurance or Department of Veterans' Affairs. 


Initially only one of the two storeys of the new hospital has been opened with the remaining 36 bed first floor to be commissioned as the need for more beds and services is demonstrated by population growth and appropriate funding of that growth.


Accreditation Status and Community Private Home Care

Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital and Community Private Home Care formerly known as Forster Home Nursing Service are both fully accredited by the Australian Council on Health Care Standards to May 2009.
