Q. Who can be admitted to
Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital ?
A. Any person requiring hospitalization and referred by their
doctor.
Q. What Health Funds is Cape Hawke contracted with ?
A. Cape Hawke is currently contracted with all health funds
and the Australian Department of Veterans’ Affairs (Tier 1).
Q. Can I be treated as an inpatient if I am not privately
insured ?
A. Yes. A fee applies to all services - some patients elect
to pay in lieu of carrying private health insurance.
Q. Will I be able to elect to be admitted to a private room
?
A. We endeavour to provide all patients with a private room
when requested. However, due to variations in hospital occupancy and clinical needs,
there may be occasions when this is not possible. If this happens,
we will transfer you to a private room as soon as one becomes
available.
Q. Has Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital been awarded
Tier 1 Status with the Australian Department of Veterans’ Affairs
?
A. Yes. This means that your doctor will no longer need to gain
prior approval for an entitled Veteran or War Widow to be admitted
(Gold card).
